Q/ Why is there 2 blank postcards in the starter kit?
Illustrators are required to work only on one of them, the other is a spare for you in case you made a mistake. You can also use it to try on your medium.
Q/ Do I need to explain my concept to my counterpart?
It's not a fixed requirement to do so. It's entirely up to the illustrators whether or not they see the need to explain their concept or let their counterparts have their own take on it.
Q/ Can I do digital print out on a new piece of paper?
Even though we strongly encourage the illustrators to manually create their artwork directly on the blank postcards we have provided, it's up to the illustrators if they decide to do the print on a fresh piece of material - the only obligation being it has to be in A6 size, and the back part has to be left blank for standard postcard template.
